Decentralised options & futures exchange

D2Y, an options and futures exchange, takes its name from the mathematical second derivative d2y/dx2, sample graph for which is referenced in the last (bottom right) image bellow. The logo mark is inspired by the curve’s structure, featuring two arrows—one pointing up and one pointing down—to symbolize the two possible outcomes in options and futures trading: price increases or decreases.

The color palette consists of cool grey shades complemented by a rich blue as the primary brand color. This neutral foundation creates a balanced environment for the reds and greens commonly seen on trading platforms, ensuring an interface that is visually calm and user-friendly. The blue acts as a neutral yet striking highlight for primary information and is especially impactful in brand-focused promotional and social assets.

Following the creation of the brand and guidelines, we collaborated with the D2Y team to design a professional, on-brand pitch deck. This deck enabled them to engage with venture capitalists and start securing funding ahead of the product’s development. For confidentiality, the deck below features placeholder text.

A key focus of the UI/UX work was designing the main product pages for Options and Futures. These pages present a significant amount of data, which can be overwhelming for users. Through structured layouts and a balanced use of the color palette, we achieved a design that effectively displays essential information while maintaining intuitive navigation and brand consistency.

The pages are built using modular components, each dedicated to a specific function, helping new users understand the interface quickly. These modules include visual graphs, trading data, positions, buy/sell tickets, chat, and main navigation, all working together to create a seamless and user-friendly experience.

To complement the main trading pages, we designed a suite of portfolio pages tailored to meet the needs of all traders. These pages provide an overview of current and past positions, along with tools to assist with price predictions. The design ensures traders have easy access to critical data and insights to support their decision-making process.

To enhance engagement and introduce a competitive edge, D2Y features a global leaderboard where traders can track their performance against others. To further incentivize activity, traders can earn D2Y badges by trading various crypto assets during specific periods. These badges are designed to encourage participation, especially when new assets are launched on the platform.

We designed the leaderboard, profile pages, and a collection of custom-modeled and animated badges. This approach not only makes the trading experience more exciting but also helps D2Y drive engagement and promote trading on newly introduced assets.

We worked closely with the D2Y team to ensure all wallet and settings modals were straightforward and user-friendly, minimizing friction in the Web3 experience. Support modals were added during transaction signing to reassure users they’re on the right track. Users can also personalize platform sounds, tailoring the experience to their preferences and making event notifications more engaging.
